Responding to recent speculation about Bayern Munich targeting Bordeaux winger Malcom as a successor to the legendary Robben-Ribéry duo, head coach Jupp Heynckes told Sport Bild that he doesn’t know much about the player himself. However, he acknowledged that Malcom is clearly on the radar of Bayern’s scouting team and sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić.
“He must be someone who has caught their attention and ranks highly on their list,” said Heynckes, reinforcing that Bayern’s transfer planning is well thought out and professionally handled.
When asked about the growing rumors linking Robert Lewandowski with a move to Real Madrid, Heynckes was firm in his response. “Lewandowski turns 30 this summer and is under contract until 2021. I don’t believe for a second that Bayern will let him go,” he stated. According to Crickex App, the veteran coach also dismissed the possibility of Lewandowski forcing a transfer by refusing to train, a tactic used by the likes of Ousmane Dembélé and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the past.
“That sort of thing won’t happen here. From the beginning, it’s been clear: Bayern doesn’t operate like that. This is a top-tier European club with outstanding leadership and a strong internal culture,” Heynckes emphasized. “We simply don’t tolerate that kind of behavior.”
He also reiterated his trust in Salihamidžić’s vision for the club. “He knows exactly what kind of players he wants — high-quality players. He’s working on clear plans, and I know he values my input,” said Heynckes. “He always includes me in discussions, and I think it’s very smart to gather a second opinion and consider professional football expertise. That’s always a good thing.”
Heynckes concluded by pointing out the often impulsive and short-sighted nature of modern football decisions, but stressed that Bayern is not a club that caves to pressure or entertains speculative offers. “I simply cannot imagine Bayern opening the door to such proposals,” he said.
As the saying goes, “you don’t fix what isn’t broken.” And for now, Bayern Munich remains steadfast in their refusal to part with Lewandowski — especially to a European rival like Real Madrid.
